Rubric for Excel (80%) 

Criteria 1: Identification of key inventory items   

  • Excellent (10 Points): Identified at least 10 key inventory items, provided a rationale for their inclusion. 
  • Good (8 Points): Identified 8-9 key inventory items, provided some rationale. 
  • Needs Improvement (6 Points): Identified fewer than 8 key inventory items, little to no rationale provided. 

Criteria 2: Tracking and monitoring of inventory levels   

  • Excellent (10 Points): Effectively used Excel to track at least 10 key inventory items, clear labeling and organizational structure. 
  • Good (8 Points): Used Excel to track 8-9 key inventory items, some minor issues in labeling or organization. 
  • Needs Improvement (6 Points): Inadequate tracking of inventory items, poor labeling and organization. 

Criteria 3: Calculating Cost of Goods sold   

  • Excellent (10 Points): Accurately calculated the cost of goods sold for at least 5 inventory items using Excel functions, shows clear understanding. 
  • Good (8 Points): Mostly accurate calculations for 3-4 inventory items, minor errors, shows some understanding. 
  • Needs Improvement (6 Points): Incorrect or incomplete calculations for fewer than 3 inventory items, lack of understanding evident. 

Criteria 4: Determining optimal reorder points   

  • Excellent (10 Points): Accurately calculated and justified optimal reorder points for at least 3 key inventory items. 
  • Good (8 Points): Accurate calculations for 2 key inventory items, some justification provided. 
  • Needs Improvement (6 Points): Inaccurate or incomplete calculations for fewer than 2 key inventory items, no justification provided. 

Criteria 5: Overall quality of inventory management report 

  • Excellent (10 Points): Workbook includes a comprehensive inventory management report covering at least 10 key inventory items, well-organized, easy to follow, and free of errors.  
  • Good (8 Points): Workbook includes an inventory management report covering 8-9 key inventory items, mostly organized, minor errors or issues with flow.  
  • Needs Improvement (6 Points): Workbook lacks a comprehensive inventory management report or covers fewer than 8 key inventory items, disorganized, hard to follow, and contains multiple errors. 

Rubric for Group Presentation (20%) 

Criteria: Clarity and cohesion of presentation   

  • Excellent (5 Points): Presentation is clear, logically structured, and engages the audience. 
  • Good (4 Points): Presentation is mostly clear and logical, minor issues with engagement. 
  • Needs Improvement (3 Points): Presentation is disorganized and fails to engage the audience. 

Criteria: Explanation of inventory management approach   

  • Excellent (5 Points): Explains inventory management approach effectively, connecting it to the Excel workbook. 
  • Good (4 Points): Generally explains approach, some minor gaps or lack of clarity. 
  • Needs Improvement (3 Points): Fails to adequately explain inventory management approach.
